Sustainable development plan

For years our company has been engaged in developing technical solutions in the production of finished products in the plastics sector, so that they too may be as sustainable as possible and contribute to the logic of the circular economy. Solutions that make it possible to contain several aspects, including: worker safety, reduction of natural resources in production processes, and limitation of waste generation.

All of this has allowed us continuous growth, proof of everyone’s commitment to ensuring our business continuity for the future.

Through the logic encompassed in ESG topics, increasingly aligned with corporate strategy, we intend to consolidate our commitment over time, enhancing synergies and maintaining the innovative approach that has always distinguished us.

ENERGY
We have identified specific initiatives to better manage our organization’s energy consumption. As a first step, we decided to implement the current measurement system of our energy consumption by moving to a monitoring model aimed at analysing specific energy indicators to understand priority intervention areas.

PHOTOVOLTAIC
The total surface of the roofs of our Italian plants has been used for the installation of photovoltaic energy production systems: the first investment dates back to 2011 with the construction of 7 systems. The latest installation completed in 2024 has enabled us to cover approximately 7% of our annual energy requirements. In this way, we are able to avoid the release of about 1150 tonnes per year of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

WATER
Responsible management of water resources is a priority challenge in the current context, characterized by climate change and growing awareness of the importance of water for life and the ecosystem. Industrie Polieco-MPB is committed to monitoring water consumption resulting from its activities in order to define a strategy for reducing water requirements.

WASTE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Accurate monitoring of these issues is fundamental as it makes it possible to better understand the underlying dynamics and identify critical areas that require immediate intervention.
Moreover, monitoring waste quantities provides crucial data to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and strategies aimed at promoting a circular economy and reducing overall environmental impact.

SCOPE 1 AND 2 EMISSIONS
Each year, we carry out an Organizational Carbon Footprint study, which allows us to quantify, with reference to the year 2024, the direct and indirect emissions of our company, as reported below.
